Julia Fairbank

BOARD CHAIR

Born and raised in rural Vermont, much of Julia's most valuable learning in life has taken place outdoors. After earning an undergraduate degree in Biology, Julia worked as a professional ski patroller in Colorado and California. Volunteering as a member of the National Park Service's Mountain Ranger patrol, she gained further experience rescuing injured and ill climbers at high altitudes on Denali. Julia also worked as a NOLS Instructor on expeditions and in the wilderness medicine classroom before beginning her current job as a family practice and urgent care Physician Assistant at the Lander Medical Clinic. In her free time, Julia enjoys spending time with her young niece and nephew, biking, hiking, skiing, running, fishing and playing outdoors with her husband and dog.

Fredde Reed

SECRETARY

Fredde is an enrolled member of the Northern Arapaho tribe and a lifelong resident of Fremont County and the Wind River Indian Reservation. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney with a Bachelor’s Degree in secondary Special Education and K-12 Health and Physical Education. Since completing her undergraduate program, Fredde has taught High School Special Education at Fort Washakie High School in Fremont County School District 21. She is a dedicated educator and lifelong learner. Recently, she earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. Fredde enjoys spending time with her wife, Madti, and two mini dachshunds, Birkley and Jorge. As a family, they enjoy hiking, fishing, kayaking, biking, reading, and spending time with extended family and friends.

 

Brie Brower

OFFICER

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Brie has lived in the mountain west since 2005. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Master’s of Social Work degree from the University of Denver. Since 2005, she has worked at a variety of non-profit organizations, taking urban teens on backpacking trips, working with survivors of domestic violence, and managing a transitional housing program. Brie currently works in philanthropy for The Nature Conservancy in Wyoming and helps with bookkeeping for her partner's construction company.  She enjoys spending her time outside: hiking, biking, camping, and cross-country skiing. She is thrilled to have her three year old child receiving a nature-based education at Apple Valley School.

Kerry Noonan

Kerry graduated from the University of Montana with a B.S. in Wildlife Biology and Botany. While in college, she worked on small organic farms and her passion for sustainable agriculture grew. After graduating, she served in the Peace Corps in a Garifuna village on the North coast of Honduras. After returning to the U.S., Kerry continued to work on small farms and eventually started her own organic vegetable and flower farm in Paonia, CO. Kerry and her family thrived on Rain Crow Farm for 13 years before moving to Lander. While farming, Kerry also completed an elementary teaching certification program. Kerry has taught 2nd - 6th grade. Presently, Kerry teaches 2nd grade in Fort Washakie and grows a big garden, raises Nigerian Dwarf goats, and chickens with her husband and two children.
